Shearing Day 2026
The winter coats are coming off! We are thrilled to announce that our Annual Shearing Day is officially scheduled for Saturday, March 14.
This year, we are honored to welcome back the legendary Kevin Ford. Watching Kevin work is truly a masterclass in a fading heritage craft; as one of the few remaining masters of blade shearing, he uses traditional hand shears rather than electric clippers. His rhythmic, quiet approach keeps the sheep remarkably calm and ensures the fleece remains in pristine, "spinning-ready" condition.
Why You Won’t Want to Miss This:
The Master at Work: Experience the artistry of Kevin Ford—a rare opportunity to see traditional blade shearing performed with such precision and speed.
Raw Fleece Sales: Fiber artists, take note! This is your chance to get first pick of our fresh, skirted fleeces straight off the shearing floor.
Community & Education: Learn about the importance of seasonal shearing for animal health and the journey of fiber from sheep to shawl.
Whether you're a seasoned spinner or just curious about farm life, join us for a day of tradition, texture, and community.
FOOD: this year we will be serving locally sourced Lamb and Beef Burgers for our guests to purchase.
9:30 am to 3:30 pm, rain or shine
