PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: May 3, 2026
Stoney Mountain Farm ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.stoneymountainfarm.com (the "Site") or place an order with us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We are a small family farm based in Burlington, North Carolina, and we sell and ship our products only within the United States.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you give us. When you place an order, sign up for our email newsletter, contact us, or create a customer account, we collect information such as your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the contents of any messages you send us. We do not see or store your payment card details — those go directly to our payment processor (see "Who we share your information with" below).
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect information about your visit, including your IP address, device type, browser, operating system, the pages you view, the links you click, the website you arrived from, and the date and time of your visit. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies and tracking" below).
Information from third parties. If you reach our Site through a referral link, search engine, or social media post, we may receive limited information about how you arrived.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information described above to:
Process and fulfill your orders, including shipping and providing customer support.
Send you order confirmations, shipping notifications, and other transactional messages.
Send you marketing emails about new products, seasonal drops, and farm news, but only if you have opted in. Our marketing emails will include an unsubscribe link and our mailing address, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Operate, secure, and improve the Site.
Understand how visitors use the Site so we can make it better.
Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or other harmful activity.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
COOKIES AND TRACKING
We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies on the Site:
Necessary cookies required for the Site to function — for example, to maintain your shopping cart, prevent fraud during checkout, and keep your session secure.
Analytics cookies that help us understand traffic and site performance. We use Squarespace's built-in analytics and Google Analytics 4 for this. We do not use Google Analytics to identify you by name, and we do not intentionally send Google your name, email address, phone number, payment details, or shipping address.
We do not use the Site for cross-site advertising, retargeting, or behavioral profiling, and we do not have third-party advertising trackers on the Site.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Where our Site offers cookie preference controls, you may also use those controls to manage non-essential cookies. If you decline non-essential cookies, the Site will still work for browsing and purchases, but some features and analytics will be limited.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers we use to run the business, and only as needed for them to perform their services on our behalf:
Squarespace — hosts our website, powers our store, provides built-in analytics, and sends transactional order-related emails.
Stripe — processes credit card payments and may help detect and prevent payment fraud. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we do not see or store your card number.
USPS and UPS — used to ship your order. They receive your name and shipping address.
Google (Google Analytics) — receives the analytics information described above.
Squarespace Email Campaigns — used to send marketing emails if you have opted in.
Professional advisors — such as accountants, bookkeepers, attorneys, or tax preparers — when needed for business, legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to lawful requests by public authorities, or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
If our business is ever sold, merged, reorganized, or transferred, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
DATA RETENTION
We generally keep order records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, warranty, customer service, fraud prevention, and legal purposes. We keep marketing email subscription records until you unsubscribe, and we may keep a suppression record afterward so we do not email you again.
SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding the personal information we have about you, including the right to:
Know what personal information we have collected about you.
Request a copy of that information.
Request that we correct inaccurate information.
Request that we delete your information.
Opt out of our marketing emails.
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell or share your information for those purposes).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at sales@stoneymountainfarm.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Some information may be exempt from deletion or correction — for example, records we need to complete orders, prevent fraud, comply with tax, accounting, or legal obligations, or resolve disputes. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
California residents may have additional rights under California privacy laws, depending on whether those laws apply to us. To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to us, the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which we use them, and the categories of third parties or service providers we share them with are described in the sections above.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our Site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
We are based in the United States and only ship products within the United States. The Site is hosted in the United States. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, you understand that the information we collect will be processed in the United States and subject to U.S. law.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Site.
