Honeybee Felting Class

  • Stoney Mountain Farm 6559 Old Stoney Mountain Rd Burlington, NC, 27217 United States (map)

One of the cutest things you can create with wool is a honeybee! We have been enjoying making honeybees that adorn all kinds of crafts such as ornaments, pins, magnets, garland and wreaths. We would love to show you how to do it!

We are going to start our class with a talk from our friend and neighbor, Joey Greene, owner of Buttermilk Bees Apiary. His bee’s pollinate our farm, so we think the honey is exceptionally delicious.

After a chat with the beekeeper, we will felt our honeybees. We like putting them on ornaments, but once you know how to make them, you can take your supplies home and keep finding fun and creative ways to use your honeybees.

Each ticket is $20— it will include: the class, the supplies, and a 3 oz jar of Buttermilk Bees honey.

With each ticket purchased, your name will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. The prize is a hand made ceramic mug, by one of our favorite artists, White Oak Pottery. Inside the cup is a hand poured beeswax candle, and our Stoney Mountain Farm Lip Balm made with lanolin and beeswax. The final touch is a felted honeybee.

We will have our farm store open for anyone wanting to shop.

The drive out is scenic and lovely and makes the perfect adventure to do with family and friends.

This class is great for all ages (remember the needles are sharp) but can be done by all skill levels.

We do not have a public bathroom, so make sure to plan accordingly.
