They're an energy-saving alternative to dryer sheets. They naturally soften clothes without the use of unwanted harmful chemicals contained in dryer sheet.  Wool Dryer Balls can also reduce your dry time by 10-25%, saving you time and money and we have tests to prove it!  And another added bonus, they reduce static and wrinkles!

Why?

Our wool Dryer Balls are felted from 100% wool.  We use only wool grown on our farm and other small pre-qualified farms.  Using wool from our farm and other farms that meet our standards enables us to offer a much higher quality control.  We can safely say, "no chemicals, no dyes...just natural, humanely raised wool"

We proudly reach out to our community, working with folks trying to make ends meet.  We have stay at home moms wanting to contribute to the family budget, some in between jobs, others that have had tragic circumstances.  Regardless of why, we've grown to a wonderful cottage industry of folks, right here in North Carolina, making each ball by hand, with love and care.  

Lastly but just as importantly, we are supporting the US wool farmers! Although the wool industry in the USA is small in comparison, we are mighty.  As US wool farmers we raise healthy sheep that produce beautiful healthy wool.  We are committed to the sheep and the US sheep farmers!

I had a customer once squeeze some of our yarn and reply, "healthy sheep".  The two go hand in hand.

*Our packaging also follows our eco-friendly philosophy.  Our bag is made from 100% wood pulp and is bio-degradable and our tags are made with post consumer paper and soy inks, also biodegradable.  It costs us a bit more up front but we sleep better at night knowing we're doing everything we can to make Mother Earth smile!

  • Dryer sheets and fabric softeners coat the fibers of your clothing, inhibiting their ability to breathe and/or absorb.
  • Dryer sheets and fabric softeners contain these chemicals:

    Benzyl acetate: Linked to pancreatic cancer • Benzyl Alcohol: Upper respiratory tract irritant • Ethanol: On the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Hazardous Waste list and can cause central nervous system disorders • Alpha-Terpineol: Can cause respiratory problems, including fatal edema, and central nervous system damage • Ethyl Acetate: A narcotic on the EPA's Hazardous Waste list • Camphor: Causes central nervous system disorders • Chloroform: Neurotoxic, anesthetic and carcinogenic • Linalool: A narcotic that causes central nervous system disorders • Pentane: A chemical known to be harmful if inhaled.

  • Dryer Sheets take years to break down in the landfill.

  • Dryer Balls create loft in the dryer allowing the heat to distribute more evenly, hence reducing drying time, hence reducing electrical use, hence reducing carbon foot print AND electric bills!
